All true. No way of knowing any of the rumors of quitting, refusing to dress , asking for trade. I just don’t get the loyalty to KP 7 weeks into season was my point. It’s not like he was given key to city or lit it up. He was a backup in wild card game. The grieving process should be over by now. I was as high on KP as anyone but cut cord the minute he left. Not saying my approach is correct, I just don’t get the attachment.

No Fields didnt get screwed. He had four years under the bears. He filled in for Wilson for six games and held down the fort. He didn't light it up. He game managed which is what a backup should do. Wilson was named the starter at the end of pre season after all. If they kept Fields in there with the way he was playing and Wilson was healthy i would say Wilson was getting screwed.

Fields is not getting screwed over. He was brought in as the backup. If we never gave Wilson a shot HE would be the one getting screwed since he was in “pole position” and lost his job to injury.

Keep in mind that Wilson will play in a maximum of 10 regular season games and won't be gassed in the playoffs should they make it. It probably forced him to focus on the importance that he has no make up games in the schedule if he has a bad one. He will find a way to win if possible.
Besides his polished skill set he has a number of intangibles that have not even been mentioned which contribute to the transformation of the team you are witnessing. Same thing happened when Ben came off the bench after Tommy Maddox went down.
The Steelers are now in the Russell Wilson era. It will be short, but should be exciting.
