How To Watch ALL LOCAL Games living Outside The Burgh ?

Very frustrating indeed trying to find Steeler games on TV or Online. HATE going through this shit every Season! What are you out of Burgh Yinzers doing to see ALL the Games ? I've tried iTop VPN and they don't have a Server for Pittsburgh. Suggestions please! TIA

We used to go a Steelers bar which was a blast and all. But then came the 65" TV which eventually grew up and became a 75" inch TV so we started forking over the money for Sunday Ticket. Most years directv screwed up our bill enough that we either got it for free or half price.

This spring, we started having satellite signal issues. Apparently, the tree line behind our townhouse had grown to the point where we could no longer receive a good signal. So we switched to streaming. Directv is currently reviewing our request to get Sunday Ticket through the app. It's an override because our address is eligible for satellite service, but it is well documented that we cannot receive a satellite signal. It was in the very fine print on the website.

I don't know how it will work next year. It has been well worth the cost....HD picture and being able to watch any other game we want and not being limited to the local broadcast. Plus, we are not traveling a 60 mile round trip to the bar and buying food and drink.

I used to do it with Kodi but it was so painful at times because feeds would get shut down and then start up and then shut down. It wasn’t very dependable.

We like to pick the other games we want to watch versus what's being shown locally. Some years we use it more than others but it's very reliable and we didn't pay 3 grand for a TV and put up with poor picture quality .

There are ways, as others have said, but they are mostly not legal and come with virus risks if done on PC's/Tablets.

YouTube TV is offering all the non local games but the service is $64.99/month. This link covers what channels/services they offer (also see below). It is not just sports they also have most of the major networks but I have no idea how or what city you get, I would imagine they would base it off your location. The nice thing about YouTube TV is that most smart TV's, Firesticks and Roku will have the service so you don't have to play the game with a laptop and HDMI cable. I have all Samsung stuff, so I can actually (through the Samsung Smart Things app) connect my phones/tablets directly to either of my TV's using my home WiFi. This allows me to stream directly from those devices to my TV's. I have an S22 Ultra and a Galaxy Tab S8 tablet and they both work great with my 75" and 85" TVs.

There is a 7 day free trial so maybe you want to try it the first week of the season and see how it is.

I glanced through the YouTube link and it appears you are just buying what Direct TV or cable offered which means you pay a lot for a bunch of channels you don't want. I cut the cord 3 years ago and do NOT miss any of those shitty channels.

Also this link talks about what will happen with the NFL Sunday Ticket when the deal ends with DirectTV after this season. It will definitely go to a streaming service most likely Apple or Amazon. The NFL is moronic and would be smart to run the service themselves like the MLB does. I wish the NFL would follow the MLB lead and stream their own games allowing you to buy just YOUR favorite team if you want, because I'm sure a lot of fans that stream it "other" ways would gladly pay $100/season get a HD quality stream directly from the NFL.

I'm saying that is what they are CLAIMING based on that link. Which is why I suggested trying it for free the first week of the season and see if that claim is true.

This claim in that article is very vague to me and would need confirmation once the season starts. I'm leaning towards it being total bullshit if you read this link:

This clearly states you have to live in the Steelers market, which means my above post is not going to work unless you use a VPN to trick it into thinking your are in the Pittsburgh area, and even those are being blocked now by these streaming companies.

I may even try it for 7 days to see myself, but based on what I read it appears they would give me access to my "local" CBS, FOX, NBC stations which in my case would be out of Syracuse, NY which means I would be stuck watching Jets, Giants, Bills games. If that is the case then this article is a bit deceptive. Back in the day when Direct TV first came around you used to be able to pick your local stations but I think the FCC made them stop doing that when local advertisers complained about losing customers.

I think your best bet is to wait until AFTER this season and see which streaming company the NFL picks to replace the Sunday Ticket. Thank God they are finally moving on from Direct TV. The NFL was moronic for staying with them so long and losing so many possible viewers that had Cable TV or other streaming services that couldn't get the Sunday Ticket. If they end up picking Amazon Prime or Apple TV they are going down the same stupid road and alienating millions of possible customers. Their best bet, like I said above would be to follow the MLB lead and just offer the Sunday Ticket service through a new domain they owned named NFL.tv which they could link to NFL.COM. They would be cutting out the middleman and would get all the profits directly all they would have to do is make sure they pushed out this new APP to providers like Roku, FireStick, Smart TVs, Google/Android and Appstore/Apple TV.

MLB allows you to purchase multiple options as well. If you want just your favorite team you can pay $94.99/year for just that. If you want to watch old games you can pay extra for that. If you want to watch any team you can pay even more for that. And MLB runs it all with no one taking a cut. The NFL would be smart to do this. MLB.tv is also available on services like YouTube TV, Sling, Hulu+ for an extra charge.

Personally I hate modern TV programming. It sucks and you always end up paying lots of money for shitty channels you don't want just to get one or two channels you do want. This is why I cut the cord 3 years ago and never looked back. My kids just use Netflix and Prime to watch what they want and I do NOT miss network "news" channels at all.

I cut the cord 6 or 7 years ago put an antenna on my roof and get about 20 channels for free ( Pittsburgh and Youngstown stations ) and we have amazon prime so unless the game is on espn I am good but sometimes the weather screws with the signal and makes it a pain in the ass to try and watch but its rare

You can get an IPTV dedicated box for about $120 and annual wide open programming is about $120 for tv, movies & PPV. That's your best bet if you watch a lot of tv.
